We are tallying up the votes!

Moose

Beagles & Bentleys

“Moose deserves to win because he’s the definition of a true rescue success story. Born into danger and uncertainty, found wandering by Beagles and Bentleys on an abandoned road with his mom and siblings, he fought his way into a better life before he even understood the world.

At just 10 weeks old, he was given a second chance — and he’s turned that chance into nothing but love, loyalty, and heart. A Great Pyrenees–Anatolian Shepherd mix, Moose embodies strength, gentleness, and gratitude all at once. He’s a living reminder of why rescue dogs matter and why every life is worth saving.”

Rizzo

Carolina Poodle Rescue

RIZZO

“We rescued Rizzo, previously Nadia, from Carolina Poodle Rescue on May 7, 2022. Rizzo’s mom, Thalia, was rescued from a puppy mill and gave birth to 13 puppies, but only 3 survived. Rizzo needed a blood transfusion, which she received from a pit bull named Tank, and in his honor, that is her middle name. She is a Great Pyrenees, Golden Retriever, Labrador Retriever, Supermutt, Chow mix, but 100% lovable. Rizzo’s mission in life is to make people smile!

She loves all adventures, from Greenville Drive and Swamp Rabbit games, visiting all dog-friendly establishments, and walking around downtown Greenville. In addition to making new friends and making people smile, Rizzo will be obtaining her Canine Good Citizenship certification and becoming certified as a therapy dog.”

Nash

For the Love of Poodles (FLOP)

“Nash is a rescue from the Richmond based FLOP ( For the Love of Poodles) organization. We adopted him June 2023. He is the perfect addition to my family. He loves life on the farm and traveling lots of places with us. We even bought a camper so we could go on longer trips with him.

Nash has been to parades, wineries, concerts, he rides in the combine and tractors on the farm and even goes to our local Ruritan turkey shoots on Friday nights. He’s been to the beach, the mountains and Florida. The moment we say “Go”, he’s ready!”

Frodo

Richmond Ruff House

“We adopted Frodo on January 28, 2024, from Richmond Ruff House. His mother was rescued while pregnant and he and his litter of 10 were born at RRH on November 6, 2023. The folks at RRH are amazing and take great pride in caring for their rescues. At the time Frodo was there, they also had 2 other litters of pups on site. When we did our initial visit, Frodo picked us out! We fostered him for a month until he was neutered, then were able to adopt. This process helps make sure the home is the right fit for the pups before it becomes permanent. From the first day, he has completed our family. He is such a smart and loving boy. He loves other dogs and people and is a favorite in the neighborhood. Frodo would be a perfect billboard ambassador for The Bieber Firm and RRH. Thanks!”

Zorro

Small but Mighty Dog Rescue

“We didn’t grow up with pets, so we never really understood what we were missing until we got Zorro.

Zorro is equal parts spunky, spicy, and sweet! He came from a hoarding house and originally was not supposed to be one of the dogs being rescued, but he was so tiny and the rescuers convinced the owner to surrender him so he could have a real chance at life.

He has a zest for life that is contagious. Whether he’s eating his Saturday morning egg, running into every pile of leaves he sees, or doing zoomies just because he’s happy, Zorro makes the world feel brighter. When our world felt like it was crumbling, he refused to let us feel alone.

I am beyond thankful for Small but Mighty Dog Rescue for giving me the opportunity to love Zorro and to make his world bigger!”

How To Get Involved Locally

Helping out and getting involved is easy! Donating your time, resources or simply fostering an animal are all ways to help out and give back to your community.

Fostering: Fostering allows for shelters to free up valuable space and often enables them to continue functioning while at capacity. A foster family can help to improve the likelihood that an animal will be adopted thanks to the additional socialization and training it allows for.

Volunteering: Volunteers are what keep the shelters running and are a vital part to the success of the lifesaving programs shelters deliver to their community’s. Through cleaning, clerical work, enrichment, reward-based training, and community outreach, volunteers help shelters all over the U.S. save thousands and thousands of lives each year.

Donating: All 501(c)(3) shelters listed do not receive any state funding and rely SOLELY on donations and support from the public to remain functioning and are always in need of donations and supplies!  Visit your favorite local shelter’s website for a comprehensive list of supplies they need!

What Rescues Mean to us!

Rescues mean the world to us, from our beloved Bunky to the many animals our employee’s have rescued; fur will forever have a place in our hearts. We are happy to say that we welcome dogs into our Richmond office, and should you ever visit us, we hope you see some of their friendly faces!

For the last five years, our offices have raised funds to support dog rescues everywhere. Earlier this year we wrapped up our Third Annual Dog Rescue Fundraiser, aptly named “The Bunky Rescue Calendar” and we are happy to say that together with your involvement, we were able to raise over $5,000 for Richmond Animal Care & Control!

Currently, we are trying to help a long-stay resident at the Richmond SPCA named Earl Grey! Earl has been at the Richmond SPCA for over 480 days and can be spotted on one of The Joel Bieber Firm’s billboards. He is a smart and very playful guy, looking for an active family with older kids and no cats. If you need an adventuring buddy, he may be the perfect dog for you! Please share and repost to help us get his story out. We want to find Earl a family that is right for him.

If you feel like you and your home are a good fit, please contact the Richmond SPCA for more details on how you may come and meet him. The Joel Bieber Firm will be covering his adoption fee’s along with gifting a $500 gift card to the Richmond SPCA’s gift shop; so, you can be sure that Earl joins your family with all the squeaky toys and treats he could ever need!

This year, we are lending our voice to help clear out the shelters and getting more long-stay residents into forever homes. We hope that seeing these happy dogs on our billboards brightens your day and that you consider adopting from one of the above locations!

Got a local shelter dear to your heart you want us to support? Be sure to let them know about our Billboard competition; they could win $3,000!!
