J. Ted McFadden, jr.
Ted is a native of Norfolk and a lifelong resident of the area. He received his undergraduate degree from Randolph-Macon College, a graduate degree from the University of Richmond and his law degree from Cumberland Law School at Samford University.
Ted is licensed to practice in both Virginia and North Carolina, and admitted to practice in the state and federal district courts in those states. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Federal Claims where he has represented claimants in petitions for injuries under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Ted has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America for several years and holds a 5.0/5.0 AV peer review rating with Martindale Hubbell.
Ted has many years of experience in the field of personal injury including having defended medical malpractice cases for insurance companies for a number of years giving him the perspective of how personal injury claims are evaluated and defended. Ted enjoys getting to know his clients and discussing how the legal system works and how their case will progress. He enjoys explaining the various stages of a case, and having discussions as a case develops. He believes this is the foundation of a good attorney client relationship.
Away from the office Ted enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys biking, sailing, and yes, yard and house work. He is also a music enthusiast and enjoys playing guitar.
